The PRITE Score Is Based On Peer Performance

PRITE exams are graded based on the performance of your peers. The more time and resources you have to study,
the better you will do statistically as compared to those who do not have as much time and resources. Resident Genius offers you a distinct advantage.
Also consider as Psychiatry becomes more competitive, fellowships are putting more weight on PRITE scores.
You don’t want to fall behind the active subscribers across the country.

Of course, you can go slower or faster depending on your personal learning speed.

What is the Psychiatry Resident-In-Training Examination?

The Psychiatry Resident-In-Training Examination is a test administered once a year to nearly all psychiatry residents in the United States and Canada. The examination is entirely multiple choice and runs for several hours broken up over two days typically. There are two kinds, the Psychiatry Resident-In-Training Examination and the Child Psychiatry Resident-In-Training Examination. The Psychiatry Resident-In-Training Examination is intended for residents and consists of 300 questions total. Its content areas include Neurosciences, Clinical Neurology, Clinical Psychiatry, Behavioral & Social Sciences, Epidemiology, Diagnostic Procedures, Psychopathology & Associated Conditions Across the Lifespan, Treatment Across the Lifespan, Consultation, Issues in Practice, Research and Scholarship Literacy, and Administration.

The Child Psychiatry Resident-In-Training Examination is a specialty exam designed for child Fellows, consisting of 200 questions that focus on child and adolescent issues. Topics cover Neurosciences, Clinical Neurology, Clinical Psychiatry, Development & Maturation (Fetus through adolescence/early adulthood), Behavioral & Social Sciences, Epidemiology, Diagnostic Procedures, Psychopathology & Associated Conditions (Fetus through Adolescence/Early Adulthood), Treatment from Infancy through Adolescence/Early Adulthood, Consultation/Collaborative-Integrated Care, Issues in Practice, Research and Scholarship Literacy, and Administration and Systems.

The Psychiatry Resident-In-Training Examination is meant to measure the performance of one resident against that of all other psychiatry residents. Many residency programs use the Psychiatry Resident-In-Training Examination as an internal measure of how a resident is progressing in psychiatric knowledge. Training directors receive the individual results of each resident as well as statistical summary data of groups of participants nationally. Psychiatry Resident-In-Training Examination is just one measure of competency for training directors when evaluating their residents and child fellows.
